Jamie is a screenwriter and development consultant based between Los Angeles and London.
After graduating from Oxford University with a degree in Psychology & Neuroscience, Jamie took the Producing MA at the National Film & Television School, where his graduation film Badgered was nominated for an Oscar. He started his career on the Harry Potter films as assistant to director David Yates, providing additional script material and playing the pivotal role of ‘Newspaper Vendor’ in the fifth film.
He was a script editor on EastEnders and Development Executive for Paul Abbott (Shameless, No Offence) before becoming Development Executive at the BFI Film Fund, the UK’s national body for film, where he championed new talent and worked on several films including Pride, Frank and The Selfish Giant as well as being a mentor/judge on multiple first-time filmmaker programs, across films that included Lady Macbeth and God’s Own Country. He was subsequently VP Creative at Elton John’s Rocket Pictures and then Head of Development for Oscar-winning filmmaker Steve McQueen (12 Years a Slave, Hunger). After writing his first screenplay, he then worked as Development Producer for Simon Pegg and Nick Frost’s company Stolen Picture across their slate of TV and Film projects. He then became Head of International Development at Stage Entertainment, Europe’s largest musical theatre company, where he oversaw the development of several large-scale shows.
Jamie lives with his border terrier, Cosmo, in Los Angeles, where he is currently undertaking USC’s prestigious MFA Screenwriting Program, writing both features and TV.
