Aoife is a second-gen Irish writer and actor from Newcastle, living in London. She goes through life feeling neither Geordie nor Irish enough, and is pretty sure this unresolved sense of identity pushed her into the creative arts. She wants to make TV that celebrates zillennial panic and funny women who overthink things.
She studied English at Cambridge and then trained as an actor at LAMDA. She was also part of the Royal Court Writer’s course and the Sky Comedy Rep with Sky Studios and the Birmingham Rep .
Her debut play, Madwomen, (a dark comedy based on the Brontës) was shortlisted for Drayton Arms Eddies’ Award, Longlisted for NSDF Award and was the EdFringe Review Critics Pick.
Aoife’s next play, SCRATCHES (a funny show about self-harm) was developed through the Jermyn Street Theatre’s Footprints Festival and was nominated for Offies Best Performance Piece and the Festival Origins Award at VAULT Festival before transferring to the Arcola Theatre in 2024.
Her work as an actor includes The 4th Country (Park Theatre); C-O-N-T-A-C-T (Aria Entertainment), The Watch House (Papatango); Victoria (ITV), Blue Jean (BBC/BFI), Vera (ITV) and The Dumping Ground (CBBC).
