Joheun Lee (Jo) is a Korean-to-English literary translator from Korea who has worked as a freelance translator for several commercial projects. She was selected for the 2023-24 Emerging Translators Mentorship in Korean at the National Centre for Writing, mentored by Clare Richards.
A long-time fan of K-pop and many other subcultures, she finds herself drawn to the works that address the issues pervasive in the industry, including sexuality, labor rights, self-discovery, and sustainability. She also has a special place in her heart for speculative fiction, especially by women and queer writers. A UX Designer by day, Jo now lives with her partner and three cats in Shanghai, China.
