Nathan Bryon is a BAFTA nominated writer and actor, who grew up eating as much Uxbridge Road Caribbean food as his bank balance would allow. He is best known to viewers for his role as regular character Jamie is Some Girls and Benidorm’s sunniest holiday maker, Joey Ellis.


Nathan has written for critically acclaimed Cbeebies’ animation Rastamouse, BAFTA award winning Swashbuckle and on all three series of BAFTA nominated Apple Tree House Cbeebies alongside BAFTA winning Gigglebiz.


Nathan has secured a 3 picture book deal with Penguin Random house. His first book Look Up! (June 2019) was the number 1 picture book from a debut author and illustrator in 2019, On the Sunday Times Bestseller list  and Won the overall Waterstones Children’s book prize in 2020. Clean UP! The follow up was published in July 2020. Illuminated has just optioned the book to develop into a TV series.


In addition, Nathan co-wrote a Sky Arts short ‘NEW BLOOD’ starring Samson Kayo and Jane Horrocks, The short was nominated for a digital Broadcast award. The short can be found to watch on NOW TV and Sky On Demand. The short has since been developed into TV series ‘Bloods’ by Roughcut TV and Sky, co-created and written by Nathan. The series TX’d in May 2021 starring Samson Kayo, Jane Horrocks, Lucy Punch, Julian Barret, Adrian Scarborough to name a few, and received critical acclaim including a * review from The Independent who called it “A magnificent paramedic comedy full of gallows humour”. The whole series is now available to  watch on Sky and Now TV. Nathan has received a BAFTA nomination for his writing on the series as well as for the Emerging Talent category. The series also received a BAFTA nomination for Best Comedy.


One of Nathan’s passions is filmmaking, He created ‘REALITY’, a comedic social commentary ethnology series about being young, black, abs British which has had two solo premiers at the BFI in NFT1. ‘Reality’ has also screened and won various awards around the world at film festivals. Nathan is currently writing series 3.0.


Shooting has just wrapped on Nathan’s debut feature film which he co-wrote with Tom Melia, entitled ‘Rye Lane’. The movie was made in partnership with BFI BBC Films and Fox Searchlight and will be coming to screens in 2022.


Nathan has various TV projects in development with Roughcut, BBC Studios, Genial Productions, Heyday film and TV, Big Talk productions.
