Nicola is an award-winning, Irish children’s book illustrator and author. Jasper & Scruff, their first fiction series as author and illustrator, was one of The Guardian books of the month… “Adorable illustrations, snappy dialogue and outrageous puns make it the cat’s pyjamas for bedtime reading.” Their picture book, A Dublin Fairytale won the Irish Literacy Association award and was awarded a White Raven. It was Hodges Figgis’s best-selling children’s book of the decade. They also illustrated the Fizzy series by acclaimed writer and former Irish children’s laureate, Sarah Crossan. When they’re not at their desk drawing or writing, they love nothing more than sitting in a coffee shop window and sketching passersby. Nicola lives in Bristol with their partner and black and white cat Odysseus. They identify as queer and non-binary.
