Philip’s recent theatre work includes the play “Harpy” which received its World Premiere at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2018 starring Su Pollard and will tour the UK in 2020. His latest play for BBC Radio 4, “Nine Bob Notes”, was broadcast in July this year and starred Matthew Kelly.

“Murder, Margaret and Me” originally premiered in 2012. It’s had productions at York Theatre Royal  and Salisbury Playhouse, it’s also been staged in Mexico and New York where it won several awards at the New York Fringe Festival.  It toured the UK in Autumn 2019

Other plays include the acclaimed ghost story “Edith in the Dark”, the first play to be commissioned by Harrogate Theatre in over twenty years ,“Kiss Me Honey Honey!” which won a Fringe First in 2013 and  “Keeping up with the Joans” which was produced by Greenwich Theatre, starring Susan Penhaligon and Katy Manning. “Twinkle” premiered in 2006 with Tim Healy and went on to have successful productions at York Theatre Royal and the Everyman Cheltenham.

Philip is currently writing a new play with music based on Frank L Baum’s Oz books for 2020.

For television Philip spent several years on the writing team for “Emmerdale”, writing over 90 episodes.  He has also written several episodes of “Doctors” and developed original series for ITV and World Productions.

Other radio work includes writing several episodes of the hit Radio 4 legal drama Brief Lives, writing regularly for the Big Finish Dark Shadows Audio Plays and developing a continuing series for Audible Originals.
