Sarah is an IFTA nominated writer and RTS award-winning director working in comedy, drama and children’s content. Her first feature screenplay AONTAS (Púca Pictures) premiered at Santa Barbara Film Festival and picked up 10 Best Feature Awards across the International festival circuit, as well as 6 IFTA nominations including Best Script and Best Film.

Along with frequent writing partner Damian McCann she has just written an episode of CRÁ S2 (Fibín Media) and a new feature drama/doc on Irish theatre titan MÍCHEÁL MAC LIAMMÓIR (Dearcán Media), both projects have just completed principle photography. Together, Sarah and Damian are writing a new feature called AÍSÉIRÍ through TG4, Screen Ireland and Comisiún na Meán’s Cine4 scheme.

In 2025 Sarah directed SPINSTER (Hat Trick, BBC, exec-produced by Jimmy Mulville and Lisa McGee) a comedy pilot, which picked up Best Comedy at the RTS NI Awards. Short films as writer/director include JUST THE TWO OF US (BBC Arts, Lyric Theatre) – part of a lockdown series, nominated for a Celtic Media Award and RTS Award. RAT (Púca Pictures) won the Shortcuts competition at Dinard Film Festival and was picked up for French distribution by Cine+, then later by RTE.

In 2024, Sarah wrote and directed on CBBC’s alien comedy PICKLE STORM S2 (Blackdog Television) and has written extensively for CBeebies’ pre-school music series YUKEE (Score Draw Media). She is also developing a children’s feature animation with Score Draw Media.

Sarah has previously been selected for BBC Writersroom’s 2022 ‘Drama Room’ cohort, as well as the ‘Puttnam Scholar’s Programme’ 2024, and Danú Media’s ‘Greenlight Screenwriting Lab’ 2024, led by Philip Shelley.
