Tom Lister’s first play, ‘The Gift’ in 2001, was produced by the Gilded Balloon and named ‘Best of the Fest’ by the Edinburgh Evening News.

In 2004 he wrote The Butler, which ran for three weeks at the Hen and Chickens, Islington and was then performed in Bologna, Italy.

He returned to the Gilded Balloon in 2007 with the highly regarded ‘Sting for Nolte’, which won a Fringe Teapot award for ‘Outstanding Theatre’ and was nominated by The Stage for both writing and acting.   It also had month-long runs at The Old Red Lion and Theatre 503, Battersea.
