Nicola, (she/they) is an award-winning, Irish children’s book illustrator and author. Jasper & Scruff, her first fiction series as author and illustrator, was one of The Guardian books of the month. … “Adorable illustrations, snappy dialogue and outrageous puns make it the cat’s pyjamas for bedtime reading.” Nicola’s picture book, A Dublin Fairytale won the Irish Literacy Association award and was awarded a White Raven. It was Hodges Figgis’s best-selling children’s book of the decade. She also illustrated the Fizzy series by acclaimed writer and former Irish Children’s Laureate, Sarah Crossan. Nicola has a new book series which she has written and illustrated, due to be released in 2024 with Little Tiger Press called Bertha & Blink.
When not at her desk drawing or writing, Nicola loves nothing more than sitting in a coffee shop window and sketching passersby. She lives in Bristol with her partner and their black and white cat Odysseus.
