Claire Wetton.



Claire Wetton is a comedy writer from Birmingham. She has a variety of writing credits across multiple platforms, including; BBC radio (Newsjack, Show What You Wrote, The Now Show, News Quiz, Ayres on the Air); Children’s TV (Class Dismissed, Something Special, Gigglebiz); TV sitcom (Lala’s Ladiez); and online (Beano Toonz, Succubus, Rule of Three). Most recently she has written for shows including Scream Street, Dennis & Gnasher Unleashed, Bad Nature and Horrible Histories Series 8 (for which she script edited as well). Claire and the Horrible Histories team won Best Comedy at the BAFTA Kids’ Awards.

Claire is a graduate of the BBC Writersroom Comedy Room (2016), selected from over 2300 people based on her sitcom pilot GETTING BETTER. Claire was also a finalist in the CBBC Class Dismissed initiative in both 2016 and 2017, and was named on the BBC New Talent Hotlist in 2017.

As well as writing, Claire is also a former stand up, and performs as part of the sketch trio, Rule of Three.
