Jess spent her childhood between the UK and India, and grew up hearing stories about the Himalayas from her grandmother. As soon as she was old enough, she went on her own adventures in search of story ideas. After her undergraduate, Jess studied a creative writing masters at Bath Spa university and now lives in Gloucestershire in the UK.
Jess has published six middle-grade adventure novels, including the bestselling RUNNING ON THE ROOF OF THE WORLD and WHERE THE WILDERNESS LIVES (Hachette Children’s Books). She’s currently writing THE ORPHAN ORANGUTAN, the fourth in a chapter book series called THE ADVENTURE CLUB (Hachette Children’s Books). Her articles about creative writing, and short stories, have featured in publications such as the Writers’ and Artists’ Yearbook and Scoop magazine. Jess regularly visits schools and literary festivals around the world where she works with young people and runs creative writing workshops.
