Ricci has been an actor for over thirty years. His many credits span stage, television, radio and film and he has worked with 20th Century Fox, MGM, Universal Pictures, Disney, Channel 4, BBC, ITV, the National Theatre and the Royal Court, among others.
As a writer/director, Ricci recently made his debut on Rise of the Footsoldier: Part 2, a film in which he also played the lead character. Distributed by Signature Entertainment, it secured a theatrical release and achieved excellent sales on DVD and Blue Ray, entering both charts at number one in January 2016 and later winning Best British Film at the 2016 National Film Awards.
Despite the success of his first feature, Ricci is keen to work outside the British gangster genre and is working with co-writer Siren Turner to develop several character-driven projects which embrace the innovation and visual ingenuity of arthouse cinema, of which he is a huge fan. An actors’ director, he thrives when leading a cast and is as comfortable nurturing new talent as he is when working with seasoned performers.
