Rosaleen Cox is an award winning Irish/Australian actor and writer specialising in dark comedy. Her work has been commissioned by Soho Theatre, Meta and the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA).
Her debut show, MAD WOMAN, sold out its season to critical acclaim and in 2024, she won Best Show at Riverside Studios London for her play MERCURIAL. She has also received AACTA’s Best Original Content award, Directors’ Choice at the St Kilda Film Festival, and was named One to Watch by the Melbourne International Comedy Festival (mainly for taking home awards that don’t belong to her).
As an actor, Rosaleen’s credits include Class of ’07 (Amazon Prime/NBC), The Tourist (BBC One/Netflix) and Austin (ITV/ABC). In 2023, she was featured on the BBC discussing her career in stage and screenwriting following the success of her dark comedy STIFF DRINK, which played to sold-out audiences in London and Los Angeles. She was later selected for the Soho Theatre Writers’ Lab and Dublin’s Storyhouse Screenwriting Lab.
Rosaleen is currently developing an original television series in a co-production between Roughcut TV and Fremantle.
