Sophie Martin is a registered midwife who spent ten years working in a Central London hospital, before moving to Essex.
Prior to training as a midwife, she completed an undergraduate degree in Drama and a Masters in Theatre and Performance, both at Queen Mary, University of London.
Sophie had a long journey to motherhood, undergoing seven rounds of IVF, spanning several years and costing tens of thousands of pounds. Along the way she gave birth very prematurely to twin boys Cecil and Wilfred who sadly died shortly after their birth. This devastating series of events has inspired most of Sophie’s writing as she seeks to share lived experiences with others who also had complicated journeys to parenthood.
