SLASHED BEAUTIES US cover revealed in an exclusive to People.com

If you’re a fan of gothic horror, you won’t be able to put down A. Rushby’s novel Slashed Beauties.
PEOPLE has an exclusive first look of the cover of the author’s forthcoming book, set to hit shelves this fall from Berkley.
Described as a “gothic feminist body horror,” Slashed Beauties is set across two timelines. In present-day Seoul, Alys, an antiques dealer, is in charge of a collection of anatomical Venuses — life-like wax figures from the 18th century, modeled after real-life sex workers. The dolls are rumored to be cursed to kill men who have wronged them. This sends Alys to England in order to rid herself of any connection to them.
Meanwhile, in 1700s London, two young women named Eleanor and Emily form a friendship with Elizabeth, one of the city’s most coveted courtesans. As the girls become enmeshed in her world of riches and men, they come to see that Elizabeth may be hiding secrets of her own.
As these past and present timelines intersect, Alys comes to see that the only way to escape the witchcraft is to destroy the wax figures, despite the drastic consequences she might face as a result.
