Harriet Mercer is a jeweller who has always preferred words to diamonds.
She won the University of London Creative Writing Prize for her MA, completed at Royal Holloway.
Harriet is still basking in the postpartum glow of her memoir, “Gargoyles”, published last year. I might as well be pushing it around in a pram … I can’t stop smelling the pages, she says.
She lives in South West London and, when absent from her desk, can be found roaming parks, fields and the concrete jungle with a camera slung over her shoulder.
Her second book, a novel, is underway.
