Jenny Howard.

Author

Agent: Edwina de Charnacé

In her early sixties, Jenny decided it was time to finally get her arse in gear act together and start writing a novel. And finish it, this time. So she finished one. Three, actually, but who’s counting?  (Answer: She is). She has decided that 60 (ish) is the new 40 (ish),  and is plotting world literary domination before the bingo wings and bungalow knees set in.

Okay, maybe not world domination – she is a fan of Richard Osman and wouldn’t want to step on his toes – but her dream is to be on holiday and see someone fall off their sunbed from laughing at her novel, ‘Jailbirds and Seaside Pigeons’. A very specific goal, she concedes.

Jenny has worked in Advertising as a Copywriter, as a feature writer on a local newspaper, as a P.A. to a Trainer in Mental Health and to a businessman/philanthropist.

She has an intellectual crush on Howard Jacobson, whose work is integral to the  plot of  ‘Jailbirds and Seaside Pigeons. She sent him extracts and he replied, saying, ‘You have a comic gift’. This letter is now laminated.

Jenny cared for her parents when they both got dementia, and this experience is reflected in the more poignant parts of the novel.

Her favourite beta review is: Moving, poignant and so funny. Well done mummy!

She is thrilled to be represented by the exceptionally bright and very lovely, Edwina de Charnacé.
