Rose Black has written stories all her life. Her keen interest in the Victorians – and the brilliance and darkness of the 19th century – underlies her novel The Unforgetting.
Rose recently uncovered the scarcely believable story of a Victorian religious cult which evolved into an abusive sex cult where a substantial number of women of means gave up their freedom and their money under the sway of a messianic leader. This will be her second Victorian novel to be published by Orion.
A self-employed writer she has authored reports on social issues for UN agencies, the Gulbenkian Foundation and UK non-governmental organisations.
Married with two children, she lives in London.
Rose Black is a pseudonym of historical novelist Wendy Wallace.
